WHAT WE BELIEVE
Statement of Faith
The Bible
…the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative word of God (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26)
God
…there is Only One God, revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4, 2 Corinthians 12:13, John 1:1)
Jesus Christ
…that the Lord Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6; Matthew 1:21; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18)
…ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)
…Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples (Acts 1:20; Romans 4:25; I Corinthians15:1-8)
…in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation and personal, literal and bodily coming again the second time for His Church (Matthew 24; Mark 16:19; John 14:2-3; Acts 1:9-11; Philippians 2:5-11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Hebrews 9:28)
Salvation
…Salvation is a gift from God that comes through the finished work of Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9-13). We are saved by GRACE through FAITH, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. (Ephesians 2:8)
Baptism
… that all God’s people are to be buried with Christ in the waters of baptism, subsequent to repentance and faith in God. (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4)
The Church
…in the public gathering of the Church together for prayer, worship, teaching and preaching of the Bible and the administering of the sacraments of the church (Acts 2; I Corinthians 11; Hebrews 10:25)
Five-Fold Ministry
…the callings of the Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher are functional within the Body of Christ until the Lord’s return. Furthermore, these ministries are gifts to the church for the purpose of equipping the saints for the work of the ministry, that the Body of Christ may be edified (Ephesians 4:11,12)
Gifts of the Holy Spirit
…We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all Biblical gifts of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives, and these gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures. (Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12 :4-8; Ephesians 4:16; 2 Timothy 1:5-16, 4:14; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; 1 Peter 4:10).
Marriage
God created marriage. It is a covenant made between a man (born a man) and a woman (born a woman) that makes them one (Gen 2: 22, 24; Matt 19: 5-6).
